Music to my Ears

How many adjectives to describe emotions can you come up in two minutes? Write them down
We are going to watch a video in which you will see some emotions expressed. As you watch you should note down the emotions you think are being expressed.

  • Work in pairs students and compare the adjectives you noted down.
  • What  emotions do you think the people were feeling? ( board)
  • What was happening when the people were feeling these emotions?
  • Now let's watch the video with sound to answer the question:
  • Why do you think are they feeling these emotions?

The video is an advertisement for the classical music season at theBarbican arts centre in London.
What different types of music do YOU know?
Write the followingquestions and ask them to your partner 
  • kind / music you/ like/ listen to?
  • Where / you/ listen /music?
  • What emotions /you /feel /when / listen / your favourite music?
  • there /is /any type / music/ you /listen to when/ you /feel blue/happy/anxious?
Now look at these quotations about music, discuss them and choose your favourite quotation to put up on the walls of our classroom

  1. I have to go with Bob Marley's opinoion about music.When you listning to music you feel free,no pain like BM said.Music is something special for the people,everybody have their kind of music that they love.Anyway,RIP Bob Marley.
